CONCLUSIONS: Consumption of whole-grain diets lowers LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol, but not HDL cholesterol or triglycerides, compared with consumption of non-whole-grains. Whole-grain oat appears to be the most effective whole grain for lowering cholesterol.
